Sydney metalcore outfit Harroway share melodic new single "Narsociety", exploring the connection between self-obsession and digital culture, and will launch it live next week on a regional NSW tour with Make Them Suffer. Tickets on sale now via Destroy All Lines.
Blending the words narcissism and society, “Narsociety” is a critique of a culture obsessed with self-image and validation at the cost of authenticity. It captures the internal turmoil of someone drowning in a digital dystopia, where endless scrolling, cheap dopamine hits and performative behaviour takes a heavy toll on identity and mental health.
The song is produced and mixed with longtime collaborator Mark Williamson at Keywork Audio (Inertia) and is mastered by Kris Crummett (Sleeping With Sirens, Dance Gavin Dance). "Narsociety” introduces soaring clean vocals into Harroway’s signature heavy framework, creating a gripping push and pull between light and dark. Lyrically, the song takes aim at echo chambers, conformity, and the emotional erosion driven by social media.
Since forming in 2019, Harroway have jumped from strength to strength, becoming a cathartic outlet for anyone grappling with their inner demons. Fusing crushing riffs with real emotion and lived experience, the five-piece continue to carve out a place in the heart of Australia’s heavy music scene, drawing deeply from personal struggles and mental health battles.
Their debut 2023 EP, 'I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore', resonated with fans globally and led to a sold-out headlining tour that took the band across Australia. Harroway have since stepped up to support renowned international acts We Came as Romans (USA), Invent Animate (USA), and Crossfaith (JAP) as well as Australian heavyweights Make Them Suffer, Ocean Sleeper, Windwaker and more.
The five-piece remain steadfast in their belief in their craft and seek to share their passion with audiences from all corners. "Narsociety" is available and streaming now on all platforms.
