UK dream pop legends Slowdive will return to Australian stages this April and May, following their sold-out tour in 2023.

The Reading-formed five-piece will be joined by New York indie favourites Beach Fossils, marking both bands’ first Australian shows in two years.

Slowdive tour dates 2025:

  • Wednesday April 30 – Astor Theatre, Perth

  • Saturday May 3 – Festival Hall, Melbourne

  • Sunday May 4 – Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide

  • Tuesday May 6 – Enmore Theatre, Sydney

  • Thursday May 8 – Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane

The tour follows the release of their acclaimed 2023 album everything is alive, which The Guardian praised as “exquisite songs from the comeback kids of shoegaze”. Fans can expect to hear tracks from the new record alongside classics from their genre-defining 1994 album Souvlaki.

Formed in 1989 by childhood friends Neil Halstead (vocals, guitar) and Rachel Goswell (vocals), Slowdive quickly established themselves as pioneers of the shoegaze movement after signing to Creation Records in 1990. The band’s signature sound, built on lush guitar effects and ethereal vocals, has influenced generations of artists.

After a 22-year hiatus, the band returned in 2017 with their self-titled album Slowdive, which won Album of the Year at the 2018 Libera Awards. Their influence continues to grow, with Souvlaki now reaching over 376 million Spotify streams.

Support act Beach Fossils bring their own dreamy, nostalgic sound to the tour. As one of the definitive bands of the 2010s New York underground scene, they’ve built a dedicated following through tracks like Down the Line and Sleep Apnea, exploring themes of love, loss, adventure and friendship.

The five-date run will see both bands perform across Australia’s premier venues, from Perth’s art deco Astor Theatre to Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall. All shows are licensed and all ages.
